Time table
Sunday
11:00 AM — 12:00 PM

Hatha is the parent of most of the other classes on this timetable. It works one posture at a time, with a pause between each, so you can set a shape up properly, stay in it and then leave it deliberately. There is no flowing from one thing to the next and no music to keep up with.
Standing postures, held and repeated on both sides.
One balance, with the wall available.
A gentle backbend and its counter-shape.

Michael came to teaching from physiotherapy, and this class reflects it. He is specific about feet, pelvis and shoulder position, and he explains what a cue is protecting rather than simply issuing it. If you have a knee, back or shoulder that needs attention, tell him at the start.
Each posture is held for five to eight breaths, which is long enough for the initial effort to settle and something quieter to appear underneath it. The last fifteen minutes are given to seated breathing and rest.
Clear alignment
Michael explains where a shape should be felt, and where it should not.
Steady holds
Long enough to notice what your body is actually doing.
Breath and stillness
The quiet parts of the class are not filler.
Good for beginners who want to understand what they are doing, and for experienced practitioners who have been moving fast for years.

Eleanor Pike
I had done flow classes for three years and never really understood a single posture. One term of hatha and I finally know what my hips are supposed to be doing. It has improved everything else.

No. Every class is taught with options rather than expectations, and our Fundamentals and Gentle sessions assume no prior practice at all. Tell your teacher it’s your first time and they will look after you.
Comfortable clothes and a water bottle. Mats, blocks, straps and bolsters are all provided, and there are showers and lockers in the changing rooms.
Yes. Drop-in classes and pay-as-you-go class packs sit alongside our memberships, so you can practise as often or as rarely as suits you.
Fifteen minutes before your first class, and around five for every class after that. It gives you time to check in, settle and set up your mat without rushing.
Pause or cancel anytime with 30 days notice. There are no joining fees and no lock-in contracts, and any unused class credits stay on your account.
We do. Several of our teachers are qualified in pre and postnatal practice and in therapeutic yoga. Let us know before class so your teacher can adapt the session for you.
