10:00 AM — 10:50 AM

Gentle does not mean easy here, it means unhurried. The sequence is a full vinyasa with the pace taken down, so you have time to feel where your weight is before you move it somewhere else. Maya teaches it for people who like flow classes but find most of them too fast to learn anything from.
Breath and mobility on the floor.
A standing sequence built in three parts.
One longer balance or hip section.

Holding a shape for five breaths instead of one changes what it asks of you. The muscular work goes up, the momentum goes down, and you get honest information about what your hips and shoulders are actually doing. Most people find this harder than they expected and more useful than they expected.
There is deliberate space in this class to stop and ask. If something hurts, or a shape has never made sense, say so; the answer is usually interesting to the whole room.
All the structure
A proper flow class, simply taken slower.
Room to ask
Maya stops for questions and does not make it awkward.
Time to arrive
Slow enough that you can feel each shape before leaving it.
Fifty minutes, mid-morning, and you can get on with your day afterwards without needing a nap.

Every flow class I had tried moved faster than I could think. This one does not. Same sequence, two-thirds of the speed, and I finally know what I am doing in it.

No. Every class is taught with options rather than expectations, and our Fundamentals and Gentle sessions assume no prior practice at all. Tell your teacher it’s your first time and they will look after you.
Comfortable clothes and a water bottle. Mats, blocks, straps and bolsters are all provided, and there are showers and lockers in the changing rooms.
Yes. Drop-in classes and pay-as-you-go class packs sit alongside our memberships, so you can practise as often or as rarely as suits you.
Fifteen minutes before your first class, and around five for every class after that. It gives you time to check in, settle and set up your mat without rushing.
Pause or cancel anytime with 30 days notice. There are no joining fees and no lock-in contracts, and any unused class credits stay on your account.
We do. Several of our teachers are qualified in pre and postnatal practice and in therapeutic yoga. Let us know before class so your teacher can adapt the session for you.
